Driving awareness of the critical value family planning brings to relationships, community, health, and achievement.
The first step for many of us to reach our goals is to access family planning care – information and health services to plan when and if we want a family. It helps open doors for us. Many thanks to those who participated in the #FamilyPlanningOpensDoors photo contest on social media by taking a photo of their “door of opportunity.”
We wish a special congratulations to our two contest winners. Check out their winning submissions here.
We firmly believe in providing high-quality family planning education and services regardless of race, ethnicity, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, immigration status, employer, or insurance status.
Studies show that unintended pregnancy, unintended births, abortions, and teen pregnancies disproportionately occur in minority groups and low income communities.
A critical factor in eliminating racial and economic disparities in care is the Title X (ten) program which continues to be the only dedicated source of federal funding for family planning.
Title X providers provide a wide range of services including birth control, counseling, STD screening & treatment, cervical cancer screening, and HIV testing.
Of the respondents polled in Guttmacher Institute’s Contraception Research, 63% reported that birth control use had allowed them to take better care of themselves or their families, support themselves financially (56%), complete their education (51%), or keep or get a job (50%).
Family planning is a bipartisan issue with proven results, saving taxpayers $7 for every $1 the government invests in family planning.
